DESERT WILLOW BOOK COVER

For this cover design project, I collaborated with a first-time author to visually capture the atmospheric tension of her debut thriller, Desert Willow.

To bridge the gap between a rugged, small-town country setting and a dark true-crime narrative, I illustrated a West Texas landscape featuring iconic cap rock formations, a weathered barn, and a solitary willow tree. The centerpiece of the design is a pond with a subtle red tint—a chilling nod to the story’s "bloody and bruised" history that hints at the danger trailing the protagonist from Seattle to Texas. By blending traditional Western motifs with this ominous color palette, the final cover art serves as a visual metaphor for the book's central question: whether the ranch can be saved before the past catches up to them both.
